πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸ’»My name is Rosamund: software developer, writer, and ex-translator.

🌾 I'm originally from the East Anglia region of England β€” grew up in Norfolk and Suffolk, specifically β€”Β and have been living in Berlin, Germany since 2014.

πŸ’š Python, specifically the Django web framework, made me fall in love with programming. These are the tools I use every day at work, though I'm lately exploring all the possibilities of JavaScript on the side. Given my unconventional path into it, this is my coding origin story, if you're curious.

πŸ“š I see myself as stuck somewhere between the literary and tech worlds. Aside from being a dev, I'm currently revising the manuscript of my first novel, plus I have a couple of other writing projects going on (but I'm trying to get into the habit of finishing things before I start new ones). Otherwise, you'll most likely find me stuck in a good book. I veer strongly towards fiction and memoirs with queer or feminist themes. You can check out my annual reading lists here.

Some other fun facts:

  • πŸ—£ When I was about 16, I set a life goal of being fluent in one Romance, one Germanic, and one Slavic language. I've got French and German down, but Russian is still a work in progress.

  • 🐱 I'm a proud co-parent to three cheeky cats.

  • 🌱 I've been vegan for 11 years and wouldn't have it any other way! Watch this space for a page on my favourite places to eat in Berlin.
